What do the numbers mean

the number c-16 and a-16 on the inside handle what do they mean?plmk and thanks for your help.

I believe it means that the knife was made in the 3rd quarter of 2016, for c16. First quarter of 2016 would be a16.

It means that the scale was made in the third quarter of 2016, the birthdate on the card is when the knife was actually completed and boxed up

The scales and locksides are made in batches and used as needed A16 is 1st quarter of 2016, B 2nd quarter and so on. Birthdate on card is the date the knife is assembled. Of course is a scale or lockside is replaced the date will not correspond to the birthdate or the other scale(or lockside) well.
