What do ya think of this....

IN terms of a user, probably pants. But as a pattern sample for a collection, possibly worth getting if you're on a tight budget, like me.

I've never seen or heard of one before, so I cannot comment from first-hand knowledge. If you can actually get one to examine, look carefully for "China" appearing somewhere.

I think that the first dead giveaway for a poorly designed multi-tool is its having a "resin" (plastic) grip. Here's a larger image of this multi-tool, that I found online:

The picture even looks terrible....

I bought one of these to JUST TO PLAY AROUND WITH (it was 4$ at Wal-Mart, how could I pass it up?!) Its not bad, a little rough around the edges but its pretty cool.

Was given one and I thought "hey what the heck, throw it in the tool bag in my truck..."

I have not used it but the other day I was looking for a wrench in my kit and found the thing... both handles are broken and it was the only thing in my kit that had rust on it... It's now in the trash...

Get the original if you must. But its way out of style though.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I think that the above "World Famous" multi-tool has SOG ToolClip in its heritage:

SOGToolclip.jpg

The two things that have me thinking that the "World Famous" came down from the SOG ToolClip is the way that the plastic grips on the 'World Famous' imitates the metal side on the SOG ToolClip with the clip, and, the triangular blade along with a cap lifter and wire stripper. The fine edged and serrated blades also look similar, between the two.

Thanks to JOOLIESEWS, from Chapter 6) Before there was Leatherman for the image of a SOG ToolClip, that I cropped.

P.S. Whoops, looks like GIRLYmann and I were thinking the same thing... ;)

Sidebar FYI:
Note that there were two variations of the SOG ToolClip. The one pictured in GeoThorn's post has a pointed combination blade, and a screwdriver tip on the end of the serrated blade.

The other version, shown in GIRLYmann's link http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/botach_1879_224393259 has a serrated blade with a rounded end, and the screwdriver tip on the combination blade, no pointed end.

LOL GOOD JOB!:)

It's not that bad of a knife. I always use one of those kind of knives for realy dirty and nasty jobs once it breaks you just go out and buy another one.
