What do yall make of this 119?

I got this 119 a couple days ago in trade. Its a 1996 I believe someone bent the guard I've never seen one bent before. The thing is its even and there's no tool marks on it. It looks factory. Oh well I'll enjoy it.

That guard was obviously bent.

I'm thinking there's not enough stock in the guard to get a grip plus have room to move. I can't figure out why someone would do this. Has anybody seen anything like this before? The knife isn't damaged so it had to be done on purpose.

While that's not particularly attractive I do like the guards that are curved.
