does anyone have a thick 12+ chopper? and how do you like it? I am going to try and forge on of these soon so I wanted to know what y'all thought of them.

I don't consider swords thick. Bush swords are, to my mind, more properly a long-bladed tool designed to provide a relatively equal balance between defensive and utility functions.

Terrible tools, just terrible...

Actually... this Beast is the best chopper I've ever used...courtesy of Joe Calton! Two hands for power, one hand at the rear of handle for reach, the balance is right in front of the flat choil for shaving and fine work.

17" blade / 11" handle

I have a pro-tools JEST Bolo with a 13" blade in 1/8 that I like so much I cut a similar, but straighter one, out of 3/16 1095 with a full convex edge, a 13" blade and a 7.5" handle. If my friend Ryan ever gets around to heat treating it so I can finish it, I'll let you know how I like it. Judging from how it feels now, I love how it handles.

Here is my beast of a blade from Joe as well. Cant go wrong with his blades.

I am very pleased with the long parang by Condor. Best bang for the buck $ . Very good sheath thrown in to boot!

I like mine

Just a handmade "bush sword" I got shipped over from the Philippines
