what do you call the measurement from spine to edge?

Obviously not width, or length...

height? tall or short doesn't really sound right.

In the sense that something like a Benchmade Skirmish has a (fill in the blank) blade, where a Microtech Halo has a (the opposite) blade?

IMO from tip to handle is length, spine to edge is width, and side to side is thickness.

That is considered the width of the blade (I know it sounds a lot like thickness, but some genius somewhere came up with it, and we all follow like sheeple).

Well, instead of "thickness", I suppose we could go with the "height, length, depth" convention.

Just doesn't sound right, though.

"Yeah, my CS Trailmaster has a 1/4-inch depth, versus my BM at 1/8-inch depth of blade"

No, doesn't sound right.
