First - happy Father's Day to all you folks who have offspring - or offspring on the way!

Now a question: Who carries something traditional & special for today? I have my old TL-29 from my grandfather, and the little Case red bone Stockman from my dad. For grilling this afternoon, I'll have a 1970's S&W Maverick (?) lockback, like the one my dad had when I was a kid. He lost his 20+ years ago, and I found two a while back, and sent him one. (I have the other.)

So. let's hear what you all have.

thx - cpr

Not a father yet, but my first is on the way. Today I'll be carrying the knife I carried on my wedding day, a Kerry Hampton KHnutbuster.

I'm carrying a case large stockman with Carribean blue scales that my step-son got me for Christmas several years ago.

Carrying one I made for myself recently...
D2 , sub 3" blade... it works :)

Happy Father's Day to all the dads and dads-to-be!

I carry the oldest knife in the collection, a 1940-1964 Case XX 6332 stockman. Reminds me that even though my kids and I keep getting older, old things can still be appreciated for their beauty and usefulness.

It being hot and muggy today, I put on some light shorts, and slipped this lightweight Shadow by Reese Bose (my only Reese to date) in my pocket. I have carried my Old Dog WT every day since I bought it, but have broken the pattern here. I hope Tony sees this, and that it makes Poppa Dog proud on Father's Day!!

I have a son and a daughter.

If I get a knife for father's day, I carry that. Otherwise I have no particular knife that I carry.

This year I got two knives.
- A Camillus carbon bladed small trapper. About the size of a Case Mini-trapper.
- A Camillus carbon bladed small pen knife.

Delrin scales on both. The best carbon steel I have found so far.

I’ve been carrying this English jack by Don Hanson a lot ever since I got it because I really like his W2 steel. Just the first knife I grabbed when I woke up this morning. (The blade is darker now and the ivory more buttery since Don took this photo.)

My Father’s Day started with waffles, strawberries, whipped cream and sausage for breakfast, then a round of miniature golf with the wife and kids. I won despite carding a “snowman” on the volcano hole (eight is the maximum otherwise we would still be there.).

My son and I just went on a hike and saw three eagles floating on the high winds. Dinner at my mom’s is next, then the usual round of stories at night for Ben and Rachel.

If my dad were still alive and I would tell him how much I appreciated him untangling my fishing line every five minutes when I was a kid, and for all of the other things he did over the years.

Happy Father’s Day to all.

I had several on me today, a Cold Steel Scimitar, a Twistmaster, and in my pocket was the Ken Coats I had him make up for me. It is a simple 4 inch spearpoint jack...

Mike, it is great to see your Hanson again, and I really enjoyed your post.

I remember being about 5 years old and bream fishing with my Dad in Vicksburg Mississippi 1955. I kept tangling the line, losing crickets, getting hung in the limbs. I distinctly remember getting real upset and blaming my Pop when I'd lose a fish. He patiently redirected my 5 year old frustration and showed me how to adjust the bobber and told me I was doin' just fine...and that evening when he showed me how to scale and gut the sunfish, and we fried 'em up, I knew that in fact I was "doin' just fine." My Pop died in 2002. Lord knows I'd love to bream fish with him again. :)

Started out with a Case Peanut for church. I carry that because my daughter gave it to me for my birthday last year. After church I paired up a new Schatt&Morgan 4-blade Sowbelly with an Oar Carver (a Queen Canoe with D2 blades cut down for whittling) so I could whittle up a nice wooden spoon for my daughter.

Wife retired a Special Ed teacher after 36 years, lost maternal instinct early on with that situation, but teaches kids Sunday school still. I listen to father friends on how much teenage cars cost and the rise in college fees without a single bit of sympathy in my mind, and I guess with two-faced false agreement of concern in my 'nods'.
Fried Catfish for 11 and used my Buck 121 Fisherman to cut up pieces. Brother-in-laws formed instant committee on catfish frying - giving suggestions, filching food, turning burner up and then down, breaking my old glass frying thermometer, then having heartfelt consideration when they said the hushpuppies weren't done.......good thing I am a hellofa guy. Everyone took home some extra fish......300Bucks
