What do you carry in your minimalist bush kit....

There have been threads posted concerning packs, knives and configurations on BF. However, I have not seen too many that ask what do you carry in your minimalist bush kit or day pack. I am not interested in the heavy load out set-ups but rather what you actual use to minimally get by on a short excursion (i.e., 24 hours). I realize that depending on the particular person or subform the response would vary, but I am interested in what the Busse Followers are using. Post pics if you have them but descriptions are okay too.
Thanks

I normally pack a piece of fruit and a sandwich of some sort. Obvious things like water, matches etc. As far as knives go, I pack a biggun and a littlun and a multitool (if I remember to get it out of my guitar kit). And that's pretty much it.

My Ultra Ultra Ultra lite kit comprises a loin cloth, travel sized bottle of vodka, two condom, box of matches and a 1311.... :D

I've got a few small day packs. The contents mainly are a stainless steel canteen, emergency blanket, hammock, tarp, altoids tin with char cloth. My most used knife is my Ratmandu. My sheath for it takes a fire steel. I also usually have a silky pocket boy somewhere. Sounds like a lot for a minimalist load but it doesn't take up much space. I'm doing a 3 day hike this weekend I'll be sure to take some pics for this thread of my kit.

I personally usually pack heavy but thats about as skimpy as my gear will go. I love having a SS or Titanium canteen for hanging above a fire for boiling water or if ya had to cook a meal. I have a few Snow Peak Titanium cook sets though for that.

Good thread!

For a summertime minimalist kit where I don't plan to stay out overnight, but can in a pinch: an RMD/swamp warden piggybacked, habilis/exotac firerod w/ half a jelly cottonball in the cap, a few stormproof matches and a wetfire cube or two in an altoids tin, with a short length of 550 cord. I generally have a foursevens light and an alox sak clipped in my pocket all the time, though, for edc. Looks like this before I replaced the firesteel with the exotac firerod:

Hard Knocks,
Cool set up! This setup or something similar was what I was envisioning when I originally posted this thread. What kind of pouch is that and did you have to put the grommets in your self?

CC, I think it's the Esee pouch, it comes ready to be attached with eyelets from factory.

Oh man. Good thread. This reminds me I have to seriously weed some things out of mine. I have a max Fatboy which I really like, but I just got to carried away with trying to cover everything I might need. Now it's stuffed to the point I'm afraid it might explode. I have all the usual things so I won't bother to list, but a lot of the overnight, lost in the wilds type gear has to go. In fact it has become so bulky, I rarely even take on day hikes any more. In reality after reading this thread for a while, I'll probably end up adding more items.:culpability:

C/C room service and palm trees !! Oh yeah tequila lol !!

Elof is correct, that is the esee pouch and the sheath was made to fit the grommet pattern of the pouch. Not my idea, mind you, but I know a good thing when I see it :D
