This term is used a lot . Is it the guy that only as one knife and loves it to bits and sleeps with it under his pillow . Or the guy that as 200 knives and knows all the specs . So what do you think a knife nut is ? Ps please feel free NOT to coment on my spelling .

A person with one knife he loves isnt a knife nut, he may be nutty about that's one knife but to me, a "knife nut" is someone like us who has tons more knives than anyone ever needs, knows all the specs of all the knives from his favorite mfg's and belongs to a dedicated knife forum

Another sign of a knife nut is rewinding the DVR to check out what knife was being used in that's TV show/movie.

A knife nut is someone who collects knives and is always posting pics of their newest score. They have their favorite places to buy knives book marked to make finding knives easier! And having multiples of the same knife because they have some small differenences and you want all the variations.

A knife nut is a fastener with a threaded hole often used on knives, Nuts are mostly used opposite a mating bolt to hold parts of the knife together. Rat tangs are an exception to this rule and have no bolt, a nut screws directly onto the tang that holds the handle and blade together, this is often seen as a poor use of a knife nut and peening is the widely accepted and superior method. Other uses where a knife nut is acceptable is often in the attachment of scales, many higher quality knives have special nuts and bolts systems such as Torix Temper resistant fastners which many stores will actively refuse to sell bits for to the rage of knife enthusiasts. Other options however exist such as Ebay, which is the primary source to circumvent such bit control and deny such stores patronage. Lastly when a knife nut becomes sufficiently unfastened a unique phenomenon has them congregate together, one such place where this phenomenon can be directly observed is at Bladeforums.com

'A'? As in only one knife forum?

Would it be fair to classify one's self as a "knife nut". If so ... sign me up.

I have just south of 700 knives. I had more until about 300 got stolen recently. I have knife hats, shirts and tee shirts, belt buckles, key fobs, money clips, thermos', displays, catalogs, advertisements and flyers, reference books, factory blanks and factory records but I am not a knife nut. It's you guys who have a problem, not me.
