What Do You Do With a Bad Knife You Bought Online? Return to Seller or Manufacturer?

I luckily don't have a problem right now, I just want to know what you guys do if you buy a new knife online and there's a problem with it like a wobble or something. Do you return it to the seller/dealer or do you send straight to manufacturer to get it replaced?

If the knife is unused and within the stipulated period for return, it goes back to the seller. If the knife has been used or return window has expired, back to manufacturer.

That’s why it’s important to do business with reputable knife vendors, like Blade Forums supporters.

Where is the list of Blade Forum supporters? I can't find it.

EDIT: Nevermind I found it.

Also you can go to the actual manufacturers website and see their own list of authorized dealers, either direction you go in you'll be good

Always check a dealers terms and return policy BEFORE buying. A very few will make you deal with the manufacturer only rather than allow returns even if defective Bladeforums supporting dealers should be good to go though

Sent a knife back last week to the seller because it wouldn't consistently lockup when deployed, gave me an option to return, repair or replace, couldn't replace because I purchased the last knife they had in stock so I elected to get a refund. Come to find out they charged me a 10% restocking fee which came to $19. Sent an email to them on Friday and haven't received a reply yet, if I don't hear from them today I will call them tomorrow and if they don't want to make it right I'll try to go through the my CC company.

Dang, that sucks. Make sure to leave a good, bad, and ugly post on the company. I bought a basketball jersey online from what seemed to be a legit company, turned out to be a Chinese knockoff. I disputed it and lost. Good luck in yours.
