What do you do with broken knives?

I have a broken Chinese made balisong. It's just the handles that broke, but the blade seems perfectly good and it'd be a waste to just throw it out, so I was wondering what others do with their broken knives(besides throw them in the bin).

Pimp, mod, experiment, practice sharpening, make a spear or tiny fixed blade letter opener.

I try to turn them into something useful. Grind the bottom of the blade and wrap it or make some handles to go on it. If its the tip I make a flat head or chisel out of it. I put it in the tool box or in a vehicle for whenever I might need it, then I look for a good replacement!:D

Throw them out, but I haven't had to do that for a while as I tend to lose them before I break them it seems, these days.

I like the kiridashi idea the best so far. Since it's a balisong blade, I don't have much tang to work with, so I could probably dull part of the blade to convert it to tang and maybe make a handle out of pine and paracord or something.

I see broken knifes as a good reason to start a new project or practice my skills.

Make a letter opener out of it, nothing reminds you to not use a knife as a pry bar more than the tears you weep on your mail everyday when you open it :D.

I keep'em and show them off to company I got over that evening.

Makes me feel good.

Someone gave me a switch-blade for my 50th birthday. Not a big fan, but obviously I didn't like to say. Another friend was coveting it, so when it quickly broke, I gave it him in a bag and told him he could have it if he fixed it. Probably still sitting in his sock-drawer TBH! :D

Apart from that, I can't recall having another knife that broke.
