What do you do with your EDC?

I carry a CS med. clip pt. Voyager for work, and a BM 730 when I'm off. The CS cuts lots of rope, elec. tape, cable ties, boxes, o-rings, wire insulation, and does a little light prying. The BM doesn't see near as much use; the occasional box, letter openings, it's mainly for peace of mind ;) They are both carried in conjunction with a Leatherman PST II, which sees the most use. I bring this up because I've noticed some people refer to a "rotation" of the knives they carry and wonder what the reasoning is. I have about 20 other blades, but rarely take them out-some people think it's strange to own so many knives that rarely get used. They just don't get it...

I have several that I use in rotation. Depending what I think I'll be doing during the course of the day I might bring a small sebbie for basic cutting chores: opening plastic packages, cutting string, cleaning nails, opening cardboard boxes, etc.

If I'm going to be working hard I usually bring my own handmade utility folder. It's built like a tank with .90 titanium liners and carbon fiber and 440C flat ground blade. I've been abusing the daylights out of it: scraping paint, scraping tape off a concrete floor, rough cutting small wood moldings, light prying as well as all the other uses listed above.

I have 2 EDC's...Both REKATs...A Sifu, and a Carnivour Cub.:).

The ATS-34 Sifu...I DON'T cut with, as it's "reserved" as my "defensive/offensive" folder. (I hope that it NEVER cuts ANYTHING!..).

The ATS-34 Carnivour Cub...That cuts EVERYTHING else.

I use my small Sebenza to open the mail, pick splinters, sharpen pencils, cut string, straps and cardboard, trim loose threads, and most any other things that need cut.

the better question would be: What DON'T you do with your EDC...

You name it, i use it... within reason...

As of late, one of the knives that I carry and use everyday, especially since changing my eating habits, is the Kershaw Double Cross, that's the smaller of the two, I sharpen pencils and slice up fruit for my mornings at work, pears and apples, works great and takes such a good edge for being aus-6.
My other edc is also a Kershaw, the Random Task, that sees heavier duty in opening boxes, cutting straps and the all important slicing open the coffee pack to make the morning pot of coffee, use it because it's so handy to open! I have my small wood inlay Sebenza but that seems to have gotten carried and used on those special occasions, showing off mostly. I have the large wood inlay and the Mnandi enroute so those may take the place of others.

As usual I ALWAYS have my William Henry Carbon Fiber Lancet which is used for many tasks as well.

I'd recommend that Kershaw Double Cross though, what a neat knife for the money!
