What do you drive?

Just curious. No real reason. Many of us ARE collector-types, after all, or appreciate fine worksmanship or rugged practicality.

Myself, I roll with Geo Metros. I love 'em, and I have two- a black 98' hatchback and a red '93 convertible. I was always a fan of Metros, even before the current gas crunch. They're like a modern-day VW bug; simple, reliable, and easy to work on- and for aspiring amateur mechanics such as myself, that's a godsend. Also, they're inexpensive to purchase and repair- though that is changing. Metros have developed quite a following lately. I suspect 40-48mpg might have something to do with it...

I also ride a Suzuki Savage motorcycle. As I've gotten older, I've found that a 650cc bike is all I need/trust myself with, and the Savage is a perfect cheap all-around cycle. I wouldn't want to ride cross-country with it, but then again, I'm not a long-distance rider. Strictly around town or local.

Finally, I have a rusty-but-trusty '83 Toyota Pickup. It's a good counterbalance to the cramped capacity of the Metros, but I don't use it often. Those dang Japanese trucks last forever!

I've got an 02 Ford Ranger FX1. The wife's got an 05 Honda Pilot.

Geos are great. The best car I ever had was a 1994 Geo Prizm. The second best car I ever had was a 1997 Geo Prizm. I'd have to rank my 92 Toyota Tercel up there too. I got that for 1,300 bucks, drove it for over a year and gave it to my Mom. She's still driving it 4 years later.

Worst car I ever had was an 84 Dodge Omni. It had an crack in the electrical system somewhere. Nobody could find it. You could drive it for a half hour and then it would stall. Let it sit for a half hour and you could drive it until it heated up again. Used to take me 7 or 8 hours to get home from law school in Syracuse.

I have a company truck (that's fancy talk for a beater truck that no one else wanted) that is a 1986 Chevy Scotsdale. Generally, I only drive it when it rains or if i need to go pick some stuff up at the hardware store. My wife drives an '02 Toyota Camry SE. Nice car with pretty good MPG. My EDD is my '03 Harley Sportster. Nothin' fancy, just a nice nimble bike that gets 47 mpg. That doesn't REALLY matter to me as I only live 5 miles from work, but it's the principle of the matter;) I guess I should count The Blue Fury as well. It's a 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief, an oxidized monster of powdery faded blue paint, rust, and black hose tape. I drove it when I was a poor college kid. I had a "boss" at Target that liked to drive his dorky Fast and Furious Mustang to work and then park it sideways across 3 spots so no one would scratch it:rolleyes: Great fun was had everytime I would leave before he did as I would rev up the throaty beast with its twisted glass packed muffs. <<BEEP BEEP BEEP HONNNNNNNNNK BEEP BEEP BEEP PEO-PEO-PEO DOOOT DOOOOT DOOOOT>> went the idiot's alarm. Drove him nuts, and he couldn't figure out what was doing it;) It's dead at the moment, but like all terrors it will live again one day. Great truck for the snow or mud or zombie invasion.

Ten year old Toyota 4x4, light, lively and will climb a straight wall. Got 300,000 out of the previous one equiped virtually the same way.

Sold my 12 year old Toyota 4X2 pickup with 165,000 miles and still running great and bought a 2003 Mercury Marauder. Great muscle car, but wish I had kept the truck as well. Don't know what the hell I was thinking. Still need to haul stuff at times and have nothing now. Got $4K for it; guess I was thinking that...

The Mercury has been a fun car and I got it for a good price. Have more to do to it and have the parts sitting but no $ for the install right now.

I drive a John Deere lawn tractor. :D I can't see well enough to (legally) drive, so that's the best wheel action I get. ;) My wife and older daughter share an '01 Odyssey and an '00 Corolla.

My 1998 Jeep Cherokee Ltd. All stock except for the suspension system. Skyjacker shocks and hardware. No lift.

Everybody should have a truck tucked away somewhere. Can't tell you how many times my old Toyota has made something possible (either to do or buy). Had to pass on a lot of opportunistic things before I finally got one, and swore I wouldn't miss another chance to snag something left out on the curb on trash day that would only fit in a truck bed.

Yeah, that's right- I admit to being one of those trash-pickers if I spy something on the commute.

'05 Subaru Forester stick shift. Anybody surprised? I was looking hard at a Hummer...but decided no.

05 Chevy Avalanche and an 01 Harley FXDWG

oh...I also drive a couple of forums.

I dated Magyar. Nice gal.

A little too ambitious for my taste, but a great dancer.
