What do you expect from your potentially ideal knife? I'm talking the knife that you would be comfortable carrying and happy to own for the rest of your days.
My knife would need these things:
-Full flat grind
-Thumb hole
-Dual liners and scales of some grippy, durable material. Canvas micarta or nice, curved, molded G10 would be ideal
-Front lock, Compression lock, frame lock, or Axis
-Nice, deep bellied drop, clip or spear point blade
-Blade length somewhere in between 2.75 and 3.75 inches
-A comfortable, smooth pocket clip. Wire clips are too ugly for me, so something more solid and flat will have to do. The clips on the new Boker Clip are nice. The whole disappearing clip idea isn't so bad either, but I can't have it interferring with more important features.
-Two deep finger choils, one 50/50 are a must, as well as ridges on the 50/50 choil and the back of the thumb hole.
- Acceptable blades steels are VG 10, ATS 34, BG 42, ZDP 189, and S30V
My ideal knife is obviously a Spyderco. How about the rest of you?
