I have a guy that will trade me a Martin knives E&E prototype knife for a sidearmor holster that I have. He said it was a test knife, but that it is in really good condition. I just don't know anything really a bout Martin Knives. Anyone have any of there knives? He is sending me some pics tonight.

I was gonna leave a link to a picture of a knife that is basically the same, but I'm not sure it is ok to do so.

Thanks,
Tony.

Contact MK see what they think about it, I got 2 knives from them, on recom from a member on here, and eventually got one when was at a show, I abuse as much as my Esee's. I really really like them. Clean, nicely weighted.

There was some company, scorpion something, passing around blades like had that "bear gryllesque" knife, or like Martins Sere, was utter crap, make sure its not one of those cheap ones.

Well it certainly looks nice. Looks similar to Bear Grylls old knife but with a cozier looking handle and jimping.

I have two of their knives ones a copy of the Randell #1-7 and the other a copy of Randell model 14 with finger groove handle, not cheap and very well made. It's a father son operation and back then I think they used S30V or ATS34 I don't remember, worth every penny.

Good guys. I chat with them almost daily on another forum.

I've handled their knives and the build, fit and finish were great but I've never used any of them.

Emailed Martin Knives and got a response from Ed Martin. I showed him a couple pics of the knife, and said it looks like a T3 S.E.R.E prototype, and even knew who originally had the knife for testing. So I went ahead and made the trade, and sent off my Sidearmor holster for the knife. It actually looks a little different from the one above. It has a 5" blade, 1095 HC steel, and brown micarta handles I belive. When I get the knife I will post some pics. It does have some blade finish wear, and some wear on the handles, but considering he said the same version they produce now, start at 260.00, I would say I'm getting a good deal. Said it would probably be worth more in the future since it was a prototype.

They just bumped the price 30 bucks. The original Bushcraft Tactical was designed as a practical version of the Bailey Grylls knife. They developed the T3 SERE as the thicker combat survival version made out of 5160 instead of 1095. I've been wanting one for a long time now, working on a .22 build at the moment otherwise I'd have already pulled the trigger. Looks like you got a nice trade.

Yeah, I think so. I realize the one I am recieving is a used test model, but still should be a great knife. Hopefully the blade itself has not been hack on to much.
