What do you guys think of the Mikov? Specifically, the blade.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Mikov: www.mikovknives.com

I'm mostly buying this knife because the lever-action double-sided switchblade aspect is fairly uncommon, but I also want a useable blade. It's only 420 HC steel for the blade, and that's obviously not great, but it doesn't render the knife completely useless does it?

I'm not really going to use the knife for anything specific, I'm just a collector, but I want to be able to use the knife if should chose to.

I think they are fine actually for what you can get 'em for. As you mentioned the blade steel isn't going to set the world on fire, and the promary bevel is too think in my opinion (not easy to get a really good edge without a little re-profiling).

Most of them have some blade-play right out of the box, but it's a strong knife, and I've beat the dog-sh** out of more than a half dozen of them in use.

Sounds like it would be fine for you if you just want to goof around with it. They're fun. :)

The blade is sufficient for EDC but if you want better steel you can upgrade to damasteel blade....
