What do you guys think of the rings on the Emerson Combat Karambit?

The open construction basically makes it 2 rings. Does that get cumbersome at all? I think I would prefer a single finger ring.

I own a Super Karambit, and I don't like the open ring.

I recently got the knife back from Emerson. I had sent it in for repairs because the liner had jumped off the scale and begun bending inwards. The resulting uneven tension was causing the blade to lean to the side and scrape against the liner when closing. This wouldn't have happened if the ring was a single solid piece.

Emerson should have at least had a full backspacer encircling the inside of the two rings to prevent snags.

Search for someone to make you a full-ring spacer.

A handfull of peaople out there do them in aluminum or Ti.

Makes a HUGE difference in the feel. Also would likley prevent any issues with the liners warping.

(PS - Sorry about digging an old thread from the grave, but I thought it was a useful/relevant responce)

msh411,
Who did the work on that karambit? I've been looking and haven't been able to find anyone to do it.
