I saw this on Ebay, and bid, but it quickly went over $100. Is this something good, or not. Looks pretty if nothing else. The frog looks miliary to me, but hey, what do I know.
It looks genuine, but the sheath is in a very dangerous condition....Whoever buys it should be informed that one wrong draw from that scabbard could result in fingers on the floor.
It is just a tourist khukuri...nothing to see here. As much as we would like to think it is something else we can see that the workmanship is simply crude. That is not the way a good old khukuri is put together.
If you are interested then ask the seller if there are any marking on the knife. This one may still be marked "India".
Don't know if this really means anything, from the pictures, the handles of the karda and chakma don't look to be much longer than the first joint of the guys thumb! Look at diameter versus thumbnail and then diameter versus length in the other pic. A totally useless chakma smells pretty fishy to me, but I don't know squat about old khuks. But I'd naively expect to see a usable chakma on older "real" ones. The older, the more useable. But like I said, I don't know about old khuks, and my intuition has failed me more than once.
I'll defer to the experts. I've seen a couple of oldies with the lion head hand crafted by the kamis who made the rig and these were quite good. I've never seen a khukuri with a cast lion head that was worth having.
