To me, pretty cool for a little pocket folder :D I wound up giving it away to a friend, now I want to get another.

Opinions vary and depend on whether you're talking an in-house SRM design or one "inspired" by another maker.

However, I have a cool little SRM original given by a generous member here that is a cool, cheap little knife

Fun fact: this knife is distributed en masse free of charge to Indian women for self defense.

too long of a video, too much talking. too small of a knife for my needs.

Whoops I misread your title, I didn't see the word "this", you were asking only about a specific one, my bad.

OK...I appreciate constructive criticism :-) Let me ask you - the video ran 9 minutes which is usually my short end - how long a video should have this of been to be adequate? (asking honestly, no sarcasm).

replying honestly as that is the way i am. a few minutes max unless there is lots of important details to discuss and show.

in this video i watched... too much unnecessary chatting. talking about the different background, that you opened the box already, too much repeating. remember most people have limited attention spans. stick to the key points and your angle that you use for your channel deal. leave the rest out. just my opinion and others like to watch 10 minute and longer videos with lots of talking and not relevant details of the item being reviewed and personal humor that they get and appreciate, etc. i don't. also trim you finger nails and clean them before doing closeups.:)

LOL...I'll say this, you are definitely honest :-) Thanks for the reply!

first off, I'm not the one that made the "too long" comment. ;) When it's an item someone is interested in- 9minutes is probably too short. An item they are not... :02 is waaaay too long.
I've watched roughly 3/4 of all your yt account vids(yes even more than you've posted here at BF!) and I find them "about right" to "not long enough".
Good resource for a wide variety of blades.
As far as the SRM, most of their knives are an excellent value & are very under rated for quality beyond their price point. I have several myself. The 4059 is an interesting piece. Is it an original "SRM design"?

I like it, it's a lightweight one handed lockback with a pocket clip and lanyard hole, that's just my style.👍 I like it.

I have that same pepper spray. Sadly had to use it twice but that's not a story for here. I honestly think when my delica breaks I'll go for a sanrenwhatever. The only advantage my delica has is edge holding and I always have a time to sharpen

Yeah. Appreciate you were willing to hear my opinion. Not many handle opinions or criticism of any kind, blunt or sugar coated, well. You Sir, do.

completely agree with jbmonkey. Also if I may add, the duration of a video should generally be proportional to its value/price. I dont mind watching a video of the latest Hinderer for 10 minutes, but that would be way too long for a $10sanrenmu.

Wow! Let me say this is one of the nicest things someone has said about my channel in recent memory. I am honored that you watched so many of my videos and enjoyed them :-)

As for the SRM - from what I understand, it is an original design, not a "homage" or clone or counterfeit. I am sure if you pick one up you will like it :-)

Quality is in the eye of the beholder, that hinderer is only a better knife if you demand what it brings to the table.
Otherwise a lightweight rock solid one hand opening lockback can be the best knife you could ever buy.
So why is the hinderer with a 10min video?

I disagree. I don't find a Hinderer worth a longer video than any other knife. It's expensive, but that doesn't make it worth more attention. I can tell you straight up, I might some day buy this SRM...I sure as hell won't ever be buying a Hinderer.

I highly recommend the Sanrenmu GR5-605 for an essentially weightless deep pocket carry.
Yeah, I like that little thing. I especially like how the choil kinda merges with the handle cutout to make another finger groove giving more handle space.

I took the pocket clip off and use it as a watch pocket knife.

DAV - I appreciate your clarification and agree with your sentiment. I agree also that the Sanrenmu 7010 is a fantastic budget blade, probably my favorite knife I own (excluding ones bearing sentimental value of course).

The detractors have yet to explain why a budget imitation is a problem for foreign companies when American companies steal each others' designs just as much.
Look at the Buck 110 and the Kabar USMC. You can find hundreds of clones for either, including American companies. Is Ontario stealing money from Kabar? Does Kabar own clip point blades? It's juvenile for anybody to support claiming intellectual property on something like that. Unless it's a true counterfeit with logos and all being sold as the real deal, it's not an issue. If I need a $10 knife, I should be able to get one in a style I like. It's called capitalism, and it doesn't matter if people like it or not. A knife maker like any other business has to offer something to make their product special. That MTech knife looks pretty until you use it but won't hold an edge for a day under hard use. Get a knife with better steel, but it will cost you. Cost vs benefit is a big factor. If I get +25% quality, then 25% more cost is fair, but 300% more cost is what they ask for.
