The best bag is a backpack: I personally like the USMC new Arteryx pack, but any good quality backpack will do. a backpack so you can actually carry all your stuff on your back if you must.

2.a good pair of goretex Danner Boots, arcadias, GTX Ft. lewis boots, with good Merino wool socks/ good gloves and comfortable clothing that is subdued in color
3. flashlight, bic lighters, magnesium firestarter, leatherman tool. tripwire, compass/map topomap of general area to be in, a few MREs, MSR waterpurification unit, MSR whisperlite stove, military 4 season sleepingbag system and sierra/Eureka 2man tent.

steiner Binoculars, 2 quarts of water, shortwave radio that is crank powered/solar
My Busse FSH in spec ops sheath, personal weapon of choice in battle rifle format your choice 223/308/7.62x39 with 450rds of ammo at least 7 mags in a blackhawk/eagle ind. tac vest. personal side arm> 9mm/.40/.45 pistol with 150 rds. , extra pair of glasses if you use them.
