I've seen threads for what everyone prefers in a user blade, but how about safe queens. Let's not be shy, we ALL have knives that will never know the taste of tree bark, skunk pelt, or desert sand.

If you're shopping for a collection addition (Busse or any other), what are your preferences?

Mine you ask? I'm a simple man with simple tastes....

- I like the classic looks of straight handles (Busse or any other)
- Gotta have a recurve, I'm hooked and admit my addiction.
- Blade between 8"-12", overall doesn't really matter to me.
- Tactical or utilitarian look, haven't gotten into the artistic world yet.
- Figer grooves of some type.
- 1/4" or greater stock.

Remember this is just your collection preference, not what you'd like to have for a user blade.

Sorry, I don't have a single knife that doesn't know what tree bark, and dirt tastes like:D and hopefully I never will again. I used to have some like that but then what is the reason to even own it?;)

Kind of like owning a car and never driving it, or a great pair of boots and never wearing them.

I've been thinking lately about maybe getting a new large fixed blade busse when they come out and just keep it as my first safe queen, but then I won't know if the handle fits my hand right or not, (in actual use) how it chops, or even if the steel has a major defect in it, that would fail during actual use if I ever did end up using it, ect.

However it does sound nice to have a safe queen
So maybe I'll just try to locate another mint shbm and never use it. keep her tucked away and well oiled, sounds nice.
Anyway I like large knives also. blades in the 9-12 range are nice. I am also partial to straight handles and the toughness of INFI.:D

later-

I also like the old straight handles but the "flown" handle design is my new favorite! (they feel so good:D)

-No artsy stuff for me either:barf: (well, except maybe some nice wood slabs for the handle material:cool:.)
-6-9" blades
-Clip points are a must, false edges are cool but a full thickness clip like the later SHBM's rocks!
-Hand contoured canvas is also nice.
-Don't forget to throw in the recurve/swooping style spine grind:cool:

I like the E-handles, I believe that the design was somthing that made the knives stand out from the crowd. The fit, form and function was perfect. My fav's are within the 6-9in size also. I love the Zero-Edge and would like every knife I buy in the future to have one. The hair on my arm just seems to jump off when it sees the blade coming. The knife sets the standard for sharp. If the E-handles have to go:grumpy: I hope the new stuff will also sport a Zero-Edge, and hopefully like the rest of America - Get fatter. 3/8 or 1/2in Thick!!!

I like chips with chicken salt coupled with a 400ml bottle of Turkey and Cola...you know what chips are, the ones we all use to call ****** fries! ;) :grumpy:

I like em old, I like em in A2, I like em new, but used is fine by me, I like em 80's - early 90's and I like em a lot!

Sorry, I forgot the question...:(
