What do you look for when acquiring a Custom Knife

Quality? Design? Materials? Name recognition?

For me usually the materials is what will catch my eye before anything else but there are occasions where other things grab the eye but not many!

Design and quality go hand in hand in my opinion....One begets the other...
 
IMHO, the first three fit hand in hand when it comes to custom makers. They're going to put out quality work because if they didn't they wouldn't last long. Quality work also usually means nicer materials and better fit and finish than a production piece.
