What do you sit on in the outdoors?

Nothing I've found has every been satisfactory, either for camping where weight isn't a problem or for woods bumming where weight is a factor.

How about others?

I use a Walkstool Basic 50, mostly because it packs down very small which is handy for motorcycling and hiking

My woods wandering chair is a roll-a-chair. Super light and has a backrest attached that can stay folded down in use if you don't need it.

Usually a log or the ground, depending on conditions and how cold it is.

I use the garbage bag that I brought for hauling out garbage to keep my butt dry if my seat is wet.

Nothing against hauling in something nicer to sit on... I just haven't got around to buying a seat.

My last backpacking trip I cut a green gardening keeling pad I found at the dollar store in half and used them as seats on some rocks and logs.

Worked great; super light, and saved me from my usual camp-butt pains.

My butt.
Sometimes use a rain jacket, folded or stuffed in it's own pocket, depending on which jacket I've got with me, as a cushion if I sit around on a rock for awhile. That's happened maybe twice in the last year, since I don't go outdoors to sit around.
I have one of those CCF stadium cushions that could be used for that, though. Only weighs a couple of ounces.
This, except mine is orange:

I use a Stick Chair when I go hiking with the grand kids. I have a little arthritis in my knees. It bothers me more to stand in one spot than to walk. If the kids want to climb a tree, I sit on the Stick Chair until they are done. The thing doubles as a cane. I only need the cane if the trail gets steep, muddy, or rocky. Good tool.

I have made tripods with wood then put a larger flat on top, they are alright but have no back but you don't have to carry it.

If I was smart I would have the dog carry in the chair on his pack....

Mostly I've used stumps or rocks. My buddy had some REI brand seat with a back on it this summer, and I figure that will be my x-mas gift. It was pretty sweet because you could lean back and relax a bit more than just using a foam cushion.

Well,seeing as how I'm a truck camper I use this…..

What can I say,I like to be comfortable.:D

It reclines so it's great for star gazing at night & napping after a hike.;)

When out and about it's either my hammock or the ground. For car camping I pack in folding chairs. In cold weather I sit on an insulated foam mat.

I got some cheap folding chairs from bass pro for $14, works well. That or log stumps I find nearby.

If I'm just car camping, I use what just about every one else uses - some sort of folding camp chair.

If I'm going light in the backcountry, I just bring a piece of foam to sit on and insulate.

I also use this ingenious little seat for some of my hunting, etc. where trees are abundant. I really like it, it's pretty comfortable and it's not too heavy to throw over your back (sling included) and hike in a ways with it:
