What do you think about Ergo BM?

I have still many blind spots in my BM collection. I mainly hope I will someday add original SHBM… But back to the question 😉 What do you think about original BME? Now there are two in mint condition available on AZCK so I am tempted to grab one of them. It seems that BME has always been less popular than SHBM. I know there are some collectors/users- how do you like BME hogs? 😎

Least favorite of the Battle Mistress lineup. Had a Terror Monkey....can't recall if it was a Steel Heart or Battle Mistress now.... Thinned out height in handle, it felt better than standard Ergo handles. They always felt blocky and less lively than Straight Handles and Fusions.

Thanks for the reply! I’m big fan of fusion handles. And the handle of BME looks little bit bulky. So it is something I should consider…

I love the BME. My only complaint was that it had less blade width and length than the original bm. I think the ZT series solved some of that. To me the BME was closer to a steel heart in size. But as a user, it is hard to beat. Comfy, They don't throw well though. But that's a minor issue.

My least favorite BM is the bushwacker. Could never get use to a handle that wanted to leave my hand all the time. Great for throwing except for the rearward balance which makes it problematic

I personally like the e-handle and fusion over any of the straight handles

two words = Pinky Bite

when chopping with any of the straight handles the momentum of the blade pulls the blade forward crushing my pinkies

But that is me.

I like the E-handles but for me the Fusion handles are where it at.

My NMFBM has seen a lot, and I love it.

And my WAR Train Fusion is my favorite, I would guess it is a Battle Mistress of sorts ?

I only liked the #’d Desert Ergo handle BM with raptor pattern scales and the double cut finish spine.

That ham sized hand is to blame!!! Even with my dainty XXL pinky bite wasn't an issue.

All these responses pretty much sums it up, get them all and see what you like!

Some general eye candy for you

Had a BM-E and after some use sold it because I didn't like the handle. Prefer the SHBM and Fusion variants. Clearly opinions differ.

Handle on the BE was why I sold mine.

BME was one of the first Busse’s I purchased around 2005-08. Not sure if I would like the handle now. Favorite handle was on a FBM or maybe it was FFBM.

Scales were kinda skinny for me on the BME.
Was looking at AZCK also and was wondering if I should have another go at one.

Wasn't there another release of the BM Ergo, during some part of Operation 2 Weeks? I got one then, have used it quite a bit. It is a good knife, and chops well. One of the more comfortable choppers.
