I'm thinking of getting a Kershaw Thermite for a big EDC knife role. I have watched a number of reviews on youtube but i would like to get some feedback from you guys here. I know there are a lot better knives for this role but I'm interested in the Thermite because of the price and the design. :o

I really like mine. It was one of my first decent knives. Now I mostly carry Spyderco and BM (Delica 80-85% of the time) but my Thermite still gets use. It's a great Hinderer design and I highly recommend it.

I have one I picked up off the exchange for like $20. For the money it is a heck of a blade. Tear it down and clean/lube it.. Improves the action a lot. I figure for a cheap knife I wont think twice about beating on it while at the same time it doesn't look like a cheap knife. Just wish it wasn't assisted.

I have knives I carry that cost hundreds of dollars, but I always rotate them out with my Thermite at least once a week. The Thermite is just a lot of knife for very little money. I enjoyed mine so much that I got one for my best bud and he loves it as well. He uses his pretty hard and its response is always to laugh and ask where the REAL work is at. I highly recommend one.

I'll have to echo the sentiment so far in this thread. I regularly EDC a blackwash Thermite, and I love the damn thing. The blade is 3.5 inches of Hinderer goodness, and the handle feels very comfortable in hand, despite being a larger knife. What I really like about the Thermite is the fact that you get to experience the Hinderer Spanto grind for under $40.

I also like that it comes standard with a G10 scale. This gives you increased grip, as well as slightly lighter weight than 2 solid steel handle slabs (I'm looking at you, Cryo II :D)

I would recommend this knife to anyone. But go for the Blackwash version, as it hides wear better and just looks cooler, IMO.

I'll echo what other have said. It is a great budget EDC. Very thin in the pocket. I got it before I got any of my ZTs. It doesn't see regular EDC any more but it is one of my beater downstairs junk drawer knives. This means it sees regular use of tasks I may not want to subject my more expensive knives. It cuts through a lot of packing tap! I do EDC it once in a while as a beater knife. Dulls quickly but comes right back with only a few passes on the ceramic rod. For the price it is fantastic.

Grownstar, great pics you got there

Thanks, man! Keep in mind this knife has cut fish up for bait, as well as tear down boxes, zip ties and plenty of other tasks at work. Still looks like new to me!
