What do you think about the M124 in a different steel?

If I am not correct please let me know but I think 154CM is the toughest steel Buck currently uses. I think Buck should make the 124 Frontiersman out of 154CM, keep the Micarta (could change up the color options) and improve the sheath by a wide margin and you have the super knife the 124 could be. I like it as is but if you can make the car run alot faster, why not soop up the engine. Or they could go back to 440C, and to be honest I would love a throw back 124. The custom shop would be all over this if Buck did not want to do a full run.

I think it's mostly a pipe dream, for now. If you'd obtain an early 124 with 440C steel then build yourself a sheath you like for it. You'd be way down the road by the time Buck offered the one you describe. Yet, day dreaming is fun. DM

I doubt that the Custom Shop would be all over it. Seems we can't even get them to offer any alternative steels (other than S30V) for the best selling knife there, the 110.

I'm thinkin the D2 is the best bet if it ever happens

It may happen in 2017 or 2018 whatever the 50th annibersary of dat 124 may be.

4 Bubble Bust in a row Woo Hoo! Thanks for the replys Guys, just like Mr Martin said, doing a little dreaming but it never hurts.

This model is very popular but Buck will bring other models out in different steels before risking this one. Look at the Ron Hood models for a shocker. DM
