I found that on ebay and I'm asking if it worth the money (90$). I find it's very beautifull.

What do you think?

Specifications:

Overall Length: 7.5"

Blade Length: 3.5"

Blade Width: 1" at the widest

Blade Thickness: 3/32" This knife is ground thin and is intended for everyday cutting chores not prying. Think of it as a scalpel not a prybar.

Blade Steel: 1095 Differentially hardened and triple tempered.

Hardness: 60-61rc

Handle: Genuine white cobra skin underlay with a black nylon cord overlay. The handle is then sealed with epoxy to keep it from ever unravelling

Sheath: Kydex setup for neck carry. The sheath can also be tied to gear/belt with zipties or cord through the hollow eyelets.

Average Weight For the Knife+Sheath: 3.2oz

I agree, I'd say you're getting a very nice blade for the money.
1095 = good steel
differentially heat treated
neat handle treatment
decent grind
decent sheath

Based on the pics and the description it should easily be worth $90. Hard to tell from only pictures and an unknown maker though.

Still, I suspect it is a good buy.

White cobra skin??? Very cool, is it bleached? I've never even heard of a white cobra.

Nevertheless, that is a cool knife, it's all yours.

im a bit late in seeing this but...

i made the piece.

im not sure if the cobra skin is bleached, the leather supplier didnt state one way or the other. i dont recall seeing cobras on the nature channel this light but i see stuffed cobras for sale this color.

nope the sheath isnt very elegant. the knife is geared towards a daily use knife and i feel kydex is the best for an edc. i do some exotic leather sheaths but i usually save those for higher end knives. sometimes i do a leather overlay on the kydex..good usability and a bit less dorky.

thanks for the interest and the inadvertent compliments!

Ecos,
Welcome to Bladeforums!!
That knife looks very nice.
Do you have a website or anything??

I like a more traditional tsukamaki on the handle, but it looks like a very nice knife. nice shape, size, hamon, and i believe the sheath is far from dorky. In my opinion, thats the best possible sheath for that knife.

Good little necker. Nice job.

Very nice knife, overall, and a useful sheath. I've seen many more expensive Japanese-style knives in Kydex, which seems counter-intuitive, using modern materials on a traditional knife. But it is secure and protective, and nothing says the buyer can't upgrade to a better sheath of his own choice.

Thanks for stopping by and giving us more information about it! :)

That looks like a real nice knife for the money. I wouldn't mind getting one.

thanks for the kind words and welcome guys,

ive actually been lurking on this forum for a few years...im just not on enough to keep up with ongoing posts so i dont participate much at this point. i love using this site for research though!

i havent made a site yet. i started making one and put it off to catch up on knife work and havent gotten around to finishing it up. i really need to get around to it.

for those of you interested in my work that model starts at $70 and goes up from there depending on options (exotic leather, wavy hamon, abalone underlay, etc) im also interested in developing some relationships with more dealers and i offer a decent dealer discount.

if you have any questions you can reach me at jasons_blade@yahoo.com

thanks again,
-jason
