I just finished a knife that i used ladder pattern damascus that i got from admiral steel and i used acrylisized maple burl for the handle with mosaic pins and put brass bolsters and end on it the knife cost me about $250 to make and i was wondering if anyone had an idea of what i should sell it for because i've only been making knives for about 4 months now and ive sold a few for $100 each but they only cost me about $20 to make and i used 440c with dymondwood and 1/8 brass pins and none were quiet like this one.http://s448.photobucket.com/albums/qq201/mike_clark7912/

I would need to see better pictures but your work looks good for a early knifemaker.

That said as a new knife maker I would sell it for $300 to $250. New knife makers just need to get thier knives in the hands of knife nuts. Then buy more material and keep making knives.

as a purveyor myself who is always looking for up and coming knife makers I would be interested but not at the price you have on craigslist. I would need to see the walk and talk evaluate the knife..see your skill set improving...before I would pay big bucks..

BTW welcome to BFC...

ALSO PLEASE EDIT THE LINK OUT OF YOUR POST...SELLING KNIVES IS FORBIDDEN UNLESS YOU PURCHASE A GOLD MEMBERSHIP OR HIGHER AND POST IN PROPER FOR SALE FORUM

thank you for the reply i just put the price to see but as of right now i have about 250 in it in materials and about 15 hours

how would i edit it out and how would i go about posting a link with the pics
I will report it and have mod do it for you ...no biggie...to post pictures you must purchase a Basic, Gold, or Platinum membership....its worth while and I encourage you to do so...

That said...I think as a new knifemaker you can hopefully get your material cost back but the 15 hrs of labor/??? well I dunno...If I was buying a knife...I would pay tops material cost..
