hey guys/gals,

any one have an opinion on the Ontario RAT 1?? I'm looking for a new blade and i hear alot of good stuff about the RAT 1, i use to own one but i sold it before getting the chance to play with it

Is this a time and money worthy blade??? or should I keep looking, if so what else should I look for?

I bought one(for less than $30, who wouldn't?), and it was so good I bought myself another, I bought one for a friend, and I got my girlfriend a model 2.

Oh, and I'm probably getting some more just to try out the serrated blade.

It's hard to believe that you can get a knife as solid as the Rat-1 for 30 bucks.

All these answers are accurate.

My rat1 has the best serrations I've used. They remind me of shark teeth. Pictures on websites don't do them justice.

Awesome, thanks for te quick responses. Ya I use to own one, won it off a prize table & immediatly sold it because I thought it was a cheapie blade.... It was when it first came out. May have to buy something else if its that addictive Deadeye haha

we have discussed the RAT 1 and now RAT 2 many times here. No negatives. Lots of positives.

My friend has one. He treats it pretty hard. Done alot with it that makes me cringe.
Not bent.
No bladeplay.
Im stunned that it is in the great shape that it is. He uses it very hard.
I dont own one, but as of my "experience", 10/10

love mine.

It's the first blade I reach for when I want to do most general cutting stuff.

Great blade shape, FFG makes it a great slicer, flicks open like it's alive and WANTS to be open. Locks up solid. Holds an edge well, easy to resharpen....

Slides into my pocket and doesn't take up too much space like my zt350 does, nor does it have the same grind your skin off when you want your keys/change/ligher effect. I like the rounded edges and simple scales.

Furthermore, they are popular enough around here that you can often find custom parts/scales if you really want to go crazy on one.

I use mine on construction in place of an exacto knife. It's my beater blade. I've put it through things no proper knife should ever have to experience and it still holds up strong. It's a hard use knife at an affordable price.

I love mine. I can only think of two negatives.

1. The G10 is kinda slick. However, the handle shape makes up for it. The knife feels very secure in hand.

2. It comes in many different colors, making me want to needlessly buy more than one.

Its a great knife, love it and the Tenacious. Best deals out there in my opinion.
, ya i love my tenaciouses, tenaciousi??? the point is i have several of those bad boys, its my all time fave knife, I also have a couple persistence. my old man has one for work and i gave a girlfriend of mine my limited blue scale persistence, she fell in love with it....... but not me :'( haha

Great value. It would be perfect if the liners were skeletonized, and the thumb stud was a bit more grippy or further away from the scales to aid in opening when wearing gloves.
