What do you think of the CRKT Swindle?

I've been looking at this knife for a while and it seems pretty decent. I was wondering if anyone has one what do you think about it???

I found the grooved handle version for a good price and I'm very tempted to pick it up.

I think they're both worth considering, but the milled handle with the 12C27 blade steel is the one to get IMO.

I found the milled version for the exact same price as the smooth version with the lesser quality blade steel so I may just jump on that.

It's a great looking knife with an incredible action. However, due to the swayed back design I find it to be in the top three LEAST ergonomic slicers I've handled. Also, the flipper is a little too round. I have found my finger to actually slip off the flipper every once in a while when I try to open the knife.

Even with all the issues I have with the knife, I still like it. I'd say it's worth the price.

I handled one at blade. It's quality surprised me. CRKT has stepped up their game.

I have one. After one day of playing with the very cool flipper and super smooth ikbs, I suddenly had a lot of blade play. Turns out that the torque screw loosened. I think it's a design flaw. Every time you open the blade, the screw gets a thud, counterclockwise. Then, after a say 50 times it comes loose. The solution to this is lock tight. I do find this a very clumsy problem for a brand new knife. I love the design, the smooth opening and all but I don't like to solve a problem which I think should not have been there in the first place.

I think it looks fantastic, but too low end for my taste. I understand that not everyone wants an expensive knife, but for me, at this point in my knife accumulating career, if the blade steel isn't s30v level or better, I'm not even considering it. I just have too many "better" knives that a knife like this wouldn't get much pocket time. Now if they made a ti frame lock version with something like m390 or cts-204p I'd be all over it, even for the $200+ it would likely cost...

These were pretty much my thoughts when I saw it. I don't need super steels, VG-10 or 154-CM would be fine (perhaps S30V). I like the design, though. I've got to admit CRKT has been putting out some interesting kniveslately, I hadn't looked at their catalog for years. However, the steels they use and the fact that everything seems to be made in China and Taiwan (stupid personal bias, I know) keep me from buying any of their knives.

Great knife. Got mine for 40 bucks and it is the only folder I carry right now.

Nothing personal biased about it. I like my knife to say Made in The U.S. Most of my knives do. Funny thing is, I work on an Air Force Base, and almost all of the tools we are supplied with say made in china on them. Looking for a micrometer or calipers, don't look for Starrett. I guess we've been bought and paid for. ;-(
