I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this but I had a piece of 1/8" D2 left over from a 4 foot bar and didn't want to waste it. I came up with a small utility cutter that I thought would be handy for pocket carry. If I decide to make more I may make it slightly larger. This one is 5 1/2" overall with a 1 1/2" flat grind blade with a convex edge. The handle is 3 1/2 to 4" long. The scales are worm grooved bone with 5/32 brass pins. This gets away from my normal hunting style knives but I thought it would be fun to try something different. Sorry the pic isn't that great :( Thanks for looking.

nice lil' blade. No reason not to use the leftover steel! I am doing the same :D

Nothing wrong with that knife. I like it. Use everything you can. I have drawers full of scrap everything! Great little piece.

I started making palm skinners to use up end pieces, like you. I liked them so much that I now make those patterns purposely.

Nice knife, BTW.:D

Thanks for the complements ;) I took it to work to try it out. On my regular job, I work stocking in a grocery store at night and we cut ALOT of cardboard and plastic, so I figured it would be neat to have a custom box cutter :D I had it hair popping sharp when I started. If you guys really want to test edge holding you should do what I do every nite. Needless to say after eight hours of cutting it has totally lost it's edge. Cardboard and plastic are the toughest materials on any cutting edge. I think after 27 years of doing this type of cutting, the best thing to cut these materials is the common box cutter with a razor blade. :( It was a big hit at work, some of the guys want one (not for work) to have for everyday carry. I'm going to make a pocket sheath with spring clip for inside and outside carry.

Well fellas, it seems this one turned out to be a hit. I've got four orders for it. You never know what can happen with a left over piece of steel. :D I've got a show in two weeks. I'm going to display it and see what else develops. I've been using it and it's really handy.

Scott, that's a pretty nifty lil' rascal. Hey, good name, Lil' Rascal !
John, I like that :D If it's ok with you I think that's what I'll call it.
