Let me start by saying."My whole life,I've never bought anything but TIMEX"
(maybe spent $30 at the most),except one time,I bought a Staur(sp?) Atomic Titanium watch & sent it back almost immediately.

Well,I'm getting kinda bored with them(TIMEX).Don't get me wrong, they've always kept good time & did their job well.I'd just like to try something different.

I've always been attracted to Swiss Army watches.Been thinking about getting this one. It's around $140.-

I'm looking for a new watch & don't want to spend anymore than $200.

I can't wear any kind of metal band.It has to be a leather or fabric band.
I have to be able to see it at night. It has to be analog,No digitals.

Feel free to make other suggestions.

Thanks :)

I think the Swiss Army watches are good - a step up from Timex and you won't go wrong.

If you're interesting in looking around a little, you can bring in a Luminox for under $200. I like mine a lot because it is easy to see at night (especially helpful putting the boat out to fish at 4:30 AM). Holds up well on the boat and is also suitable for town wear - especially at movies or concerts, where it's easy to read. The prices range pretty far, but mine was under $200 and it is a good analog watch so worth doing a search on. There's a "navy seal" thing about Luminox, but that's neither here nor there in my opinion.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of other suggestions here - good luck!

I know it's not under $200 (it's $340), but I've got my eye on this watch 'cause it's pretty unique looking. The orange may be a bit much, though.

If you like orange, this is the watch I wear everyday.

Also comes in black. And it's under $200

i too have been using Timex watches "forever", which is out of synch with the rest of my "stuff". i really like high end products, like my custom knives.
since the advent of digital technology, a $30 Timex keeps time as accurately as a $10,000 Rolex. what you get in the Swiss Army watch is a more attractive case and a much better strap. the even more expensive watches may function as jewellery or a status symbol for those who want to display their economic status.
i have misplaced(lost) a few Timex watches over the years but that only gives me a feeling of minor annoyance, whereas i would be much more upset at my carelessness were it an expensive watch.
hence, i stick with Timex, although i might one day try ebay to get a "steal" on one of the Swiss Army ones.

I'm shopping with the Sportsman's Guide(I get 10% off with them) & looking at these two.

The one on the left is around $60 & the one on the right is around $140

Is the Wenger really worth that much more?

I think that watch is broken. Or its running too slow. It reads 10:10 but it's accutally about 12:55.

You should have it repaired.

You'll love it. I had one once, till my 2 year old threw it away. It was the best watch I ever had.

I have the Wenger, tough watch! Needs a battery every year, but other than that it has been a tank. I changed the band to a Maratac as the original one didn't last long due to it getting wet alot. I sport a Luminox 3000 now and like that one a bit more due to the constant lumination feature and it is much more water resistant.

I would go with a Seiko automatic. I am horrible with getting batteries changed in watches. It seems like they sit forever until I get around to getting a new battery put in. I've been wearing a Seiko SKX007 for about a year straight now. I work in it, shower in it, sleep in it, etc. It's a very tough watch that is quite accurate for an automatic. Mine is about 1 minute slow a week. So once a month I set it back about four minutes and that is all the maintenance it ever gets. Here is a link to my watch... http://chronograph.com/store/mli_viewItem.asp?idproduct=146. They can be found on the bay for just over a hundred.

As far as the Wenger you have posted about I can't comment on. I do know that my father wore a similar styled Wenger watch for years with no problems. He got a new watch as a gift and wears that now. I think he only wears the new one because it was a gift. If his Wenger crapped out on him I'd have heard about it.

Everyone has a good choice and it's always based upon experience.

Here's mine. I simply LOVE the clarity.

I really dislike the 'dive watch' rings that are so popular. They are like shutters on a house. Always present, but never used. :)

Less than $140 (eBay).

Orient has been around for a while, makes quite a good selection of watches, especially automatics. Were I buying a watch fro under $200, I'd probably go with them.
The Mako in particular is a good seller, and I can see why. You can get it with a bracelet or a rubber strap, which I imagine would be no trouble to change out.

As to the OP watch, I have two SA watches and can attest to them being quality quartz timepieces for the price. You can't go wrong getting one on a strap- but the bracelet that came with one of mine was a piece of junk.

actually you can find that exact watch on your corner store .com for around 190 with shipping

i found my luminox evo seal 2 on yourcornerstore.com for around 190 shipped try them they also have swiss army and some other brands hope this helps

I'm not a huge Wenger fan. You pay a lot more for that Swiss Army name.

In that price range, I'd be looking closer at Luminox, Traser, St. Moritz, Seiko and Citizen.

I would recommend a Luminox if you can find one at a suitable price. The tritium capsules will be brighter after hours in darkness than a watch with luminous paint which loses it's charge. I got my Officers model ~8 years ago for like $140 and it's still my favorite watch.
