I have been wanting to finish this one up for a while. I finally got time this weekend. What do you all think of the design? I gotta say it feels great in the hand. Everyone who has picked it up has loved it.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Kyle Fuglesten

Very nice. What do you call it? It looks like it would work real well as a skinner for large game. On the pommel end what would you use that for? The look of the handle is cool and looks to have good gripabilty. Nice work. ;)

I LUV that one just the way it is!!! Several options for cutting or a little light chopping, great design.

Does it come with a Kydex or Leather Sheath?

Reminds me somewhat of a fize blade version of a folding knife designed by Chris Caracci that was not mass produced and was very high priced (can't remember the name and have never seen one in person. I like yours much better though.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I think I posted this a couple of weeks ago, and no one responded so I thought it might be a little too weird for everyone.

Hey Onetogofast, I think the Carraci knife you are referring to was called the Pendulum. I use to have one, I always liked the blade shape, but I didn't like the ergonomics on that knife very much.

Hillbillenigma It will probably come with a concealex sheath by On-scene-tactical. Eric does most of the sheaths for my tactical finished blades. I am hoping to send this as well as a few others to him in the next week or two.

Thanks again guys

Right you are, it was the pendulum. If I remember right he wanted something like $300-350 for them. Like I said, I think I would rather have yours.

Very, very cool!!! I could see that one strapped to my backpack for camping. By all means, make some more. :)

Having recently done something similar, I know how hard that was to grind. Looks like a very fine job too; I like its shape and size, just right. What's the finish on the blade?

The finish on this one is bead blasted. I am making another one currently that will be mirror polished, and then I was hoping to get someone to hot blue it for me.

GG&G Pendulum. I liked it but the price was ridiculous. I don't think they exist anymore.

Steve Corkum was also making some tactical type hatchets simialr to that size in 1050 steel with his clay-backed hardening and a hamon on each piece, with wrapped handle.

I think yours is a very effective looking piece, nicely finished. It would work like a mean-looking cleaver for heavy work. I like it ! Jason.

That could be called a self-defense axe. You got a spike at the bottom, and the highest portion of the blade looks as though it is sharp enough to stab with. Sweet looking knife.

Much smaller in the hand than I would of expected- not at all a bad thing!!!
Looks like a smaller brother to a large bearded hatchet I am making!
