What do you think?

My wife has gotten this really silly notion in her head, that things are suppose to come in matching sets. I think after being here for four years, she is starting to get Amerianized. She all of a sudden has come up with this idea that things are suppose to come in sets. She thinks the silverware should all match each other, and it gets worse, she not only wants all the plates to match, but she even wants all the chairs at the table to match. I told her that is going to far, and she said I am not done yet, she even wants her living room furniture to match each other. I told her I never heard of such a thing, what does she think, we are rich or something?

Anyways, what do you think is more important? Matching butterknives, or a really awesome collection of balisong knives?

I told her that if she wants things to match, go get a job! That quieted her down for a little bit. Of course she has 4 jobs already, we maintain some property in exchange for our rent, she has a 3 year old to take care of and she does all of the shipping. But she has time left in her day, she could go out and work a little and make a bit of money. www.BalisongKnife.com Thanks, JohnR7

Matching butterfly butter knives is the obvious solution. Don't forget butterfly fruit knives, dinner knives, and steak knives too.

Well, I just told my girlfriend that I could really use a hot set of twin blondes.

She said no..........

I guess I'm lucky that mine isn't as obsessed with matching sets as yours is.

..........then again.........

I can see matching pairs of a few blade types, but only for doing two handed stuff.Otherwise,I'd go for a large collection of different blades.

Well Well Well ..

On a heavier and more serious note: philosophically (stolen from Taoism), there is this thing about 'matching' but more on the deeper way, things got to be harmonious.

Translated into real life, it can be a matching living room (color, shape, etc) but matching doesn't really mean or equal with harmony ..

I think I am rambling here ...

Hey wouldn't a butterfly fork (and/or spoon) be an amusing idea... I'd like to see Clay or some other expert manipulating a full set of dining cutlery!

Actually, I try not to think. Not very Zen.
