What do you think?

If this steel is so great, why haven't I heard it mentioned before by the zillions of steel junkies on this site? I'm skeptical.

I'd like to know a "HELLUVA" lot more about that steel B4 putting out that much money!:eek:
 
You can buy knives made out of that steel a heck of a lot cheaper on Japanese knives direct. I bought a neck knife made out of it for $160 from the same knife maker as the one that SOG collaberated with. His stuff tends to sell out fast in OU31, but he uses D2 and VG10 also. There is also other excellent knifesmiths at their site and their work in Aogami, white steel, Etc. It comes from Japan to my door in about 4 to 5 days. Joe

And what site would that be?
 
Lots of knives at the referenced link by the same maker with same materials in the $500-$600 dollar range. Yeah, I'd say the SOG "reverse collaboration" is just a little over-priced.
