My beloved Para-2's blade has gotten a bit grimy slicing oranges and other food stuffs ... what would be a good thing to use to clean up the blade ?

I haven't had any problems scrubbing it with soap and water and oiling. If you aren't comfortable with that, wd40 or any oil would be fine.

Honestly I just use dish soap and water.
Scrub lightly with a toothbrush, dry and you're good to go.

If you need to wash near the pivot or get it wet make sure to dry it and oil it.

Folders: Mineral Oil if I want to add something protective. Also pretty good for the joints, but not as good as "hi tech lubes". For sticky or stubborn stuff, 90% isopropyl alcohol or Goo Gone. The later is especially good for tape residue.

Kitchen blades: Pretty much just soap and water, though every now and then I need a powdered cleanser like Bon Ami or Bar Keeper's Friend. BKF of course is highly regarded for it's ability to remove rust and secondarily for cleaning metal swarf from stones, diamond plates, and ceramics (like the SharpMaker).

Brian.

Sounds like you need to do the dishes more.
