I have used several acids. I have used Ferric Chorlide for the last several knives. Just wondering what the rest of you use and why?

Ferric Chloride, no doubt about it. It is strong enough to give a deep etch if wanted and still "relativly" safe in comparison to other acids.
Also a quick dip will be enough to display the paturn of new damascus bars without a long time soak.

Yep, one part ferric chloride to three parts plain water. Works great. They say it works better if you warm it up but I've never bothered.
