What do you use your Bali song for?

Being new to this area of the forums, I thought I would ask this question. I'm sure it has been asked before so try not to shoot me.:D I just used mine (BM 42) to cut a nectarine. I am using it as a daily carry knife. I'll chance getting it taken form me. It's way too cool not to carry.

When my knife was working.....

It was just a flipper. Sat on my desk, was flipped all day long. Carrying one is illegal here, and my legal knives are much better quality than a jag.

However, once I get a 42 it just might be my EDC knife.

I flipped it hard, had to repin it many times, and had to fill the tang pin cups a few times also. It was a great 25 dollar knife:)

What do I use my Bali for?
Everything I need a knife for. And some things I don’t.

I use mine as my EDC to cut everything from strings off my clothes to opening packages to whatever. I've also been known to use her as a door stop from time to time.

I use mine to impress and amaze ;), open boxes, cut tags, packages, clothing, food, small animals ;), etc.
you name it.

I've recently been using my 42 a little less and using my 2" keychain bali. I figure it'll be my only bali at school and I'd like to be able to do all the same moves with it (and I'd be able to, if only I could get that damn Y2K rollover down)

Everything from home surgery to digging out dandelions.
I used it this weekend to adjust my iron sights on me .45 :)
I think that I posted this before, but this is my EDC.....

My 42 is my EDC, wouldn't leave home without it. Still trying to get the hang of the belt sheath, but I'll figure out a good position for it soon enough. :D

Man, I've been using mine a lot lately. My church, St. Paul Lutheran Church here in Sherwood, is expanding its school. We got one of those "modular" buildings (we used to call 'em "double-wides" when I was growing up). It's used. It's needed a lot of work to turn it into a proper school. Among other things, I'm in charge of doors. Most recently, we found out that state law requires windows in outside doors of schools. So, all the outside doors had to come down and go to a shop, Northwest Door and Window Supply (they're great), to have windows cut into them (these are steel-clad fire-rated doors, so you don't just take the Dremel tool to 'em). To close the opening up while the doors are away, I cut big sheets of plastic and hung them over the openings. So, the last big task I did with a BM42 was to cut that plastic. Oh, and I opened the box that had the new passage sets for the interior doors in it.

I'd have to say that I don't use my bali as much for cutting as I do for other random tasks. It makes a great handle for pulling rope (garage doors, pull-starting handle-less lawnmowers), wire cutters, and can give you those extra few inches of reach in small spaces. I also roll my own cigs. All I need is a roll of papers, some tobacco, and my knife. Cut the paper, use the latch to pack the ends, then snip off the extra. They're also great for pushing those annoying thumb tacks into wood. There has got to be hundreds of uses for a balisong.

Of course, I like to flip it too. :D

wow, blasto, i roll my own, too! you're one of only 2 people i know of who are self-rollers. never used my bali, though...
i use my bm42 as my edc. it cuts whatever i need it to.
peace.
aleX.

My Bali's are only used for flipping. I used to carry my PC International and use it for EDC, but that was in the early nineties.

Add another to the list, I roll too. But I don't use my 42 to roll with. I mostly use my 42 for box opening, string/rope cutting, fingernail cutting, letter opening, and for that annoying piece of paper begging to get sliced in half. I practice manipulating more than anything else though.

Pedder, where are you in MI and who says bali's are illegal here? Or is this a local ordinance you are talking about? If there's some case history on this I'd be interested, as I've been carrying mine unconcealed and don't really want to get gigged. Thanks.

I make my own Martinis. Does that count?

I know why I make my own Martinis; very few bar tenders actually know how to make a proper Martini. But, not being a smoker, I don't know why anyone would go to the trouble of rolling their own cigarettes. I actually know a several people who do, though. I've watched this process and it seems rather a lot to go through.

But then you enjoy it more, and they taste better..especially if you mix your own "blend".

And as far as a good Martini.... Stoli Vanil with a couple of coffee beans in it is just fine with me. SMOOOOOTH!!!!
