What do you use your GW for?

I have to confess that I'm not generally attracted to smaller blades; 5" is about the minimum in my book. But the appearance of the GW is growing on me, so I'm wondering what those of you have one have used it for? Love to hear all suggestions (obviously I'm trying to rationalize buying one:D ), but I'm especially interested to hear if anyone has used one to clean/fillet fish and for camp food prep. If so, what are your thoughts, or are there better Busses for this in your book.

A 5" blade is a lot for a daily carrier but great for excursions into the wilderness IMHO. I had my GW on yesterday for carry. Used it to remove the plastic off a bundle of landscaping stones and even dug in the dirt a bit with it to get the stones to fit just right. I use a filet knife for fish. Keep one in my tackle box anyway so if I have fishin gear with me I have that knife. Although I'm sure it can be done, I think the GW would be a bit small for that (unless yer skinnin the minows). Mine just replaces my folder pocket knife for normal chores. Easy access and no worries about damaging it for sure.

Mostly EDC stuff around town and the house...

I have used it to skin large game and it worked quite well. I'm not sure it would be very functional for fish though.

I think you ought to get one -- you'll love it! The key is a good sheath, so the knife is with you and not in your knife drawer. If you carry it and use it you'll be in love.

I've used mine as a camp knife, and when I go walking in the woods with the kids, I use it to widdle bark off of the sticks my son picks up so he can hold them by the bare wood. I have occasionally used the knife around the yard for light stuff.

Sort of an outside, around the house EDC. Love them. Good size, comfy grip, and easily carried...

I had to sell a couple blades recently, and the GW was one of them. I miss it horribly, and hopefully will have the one I really want (SMOG) lined up soon. While I had the GW, it was my EDC and always in my pocket unless in use. In my estimation, it is the perfect "small" knife for chores like opening packages to splitting kindling. I even batonned mine through cedar. Although I didn't have a chance to dress anything in the field with the GW, I did a lot of slicing, dicing and other meat prep at home. It's a great knife.

I have to mention something I have posted a little about in the past, just to make a point. I have deformative psoriatic arthritis (mostly in my hands) and have severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands with moderate nerve damage. I have been in therapy for quite some time (while working as a woodworker full-time) and go in for surgery, finally, in 2 weeks. Now, more to the point, my Busse blades have been the biggest part of my hand therapy. (I also get a kick out of the responses and looks I get from doctors and nursing staff, when they see my Busse shirts or hat.;) )The ergonomics of the handles have been a constant source of healthy hand contour and allow me to do some chores almost pain free. The GW handle is only surpassed by the TAC and ST Ripper/Ripper style handles for comfort and flow in hand, as far as my needs go. One more thing, I found the blade geometry on both Game Wardens I've owned to be some of the easiest to care for and sharpen.

I hope this will help you find the INFI best suited for you. As they say, "NO REGRETS!". Unless you get rid of INFI.;)

The blade profile fits perfectly to scrape sock lint out from underneath the nails of my big monkey toes.

( The "voices" told me to say that... Man, I really gotta get more sleep at night.)

No one picks there nose with it? I mean c'mon folks the tip is perfectly contoured for that;). I have field dressed some critters with mine and love to use a GW for small camp work.
