What do you use your JK knife (knives) for?

I just received my JK knife 9 days ago (on the 12th) after a VERY confusing ordeal with USPS...I purchased 'The Tool' for it's exact description after a long search for a Bushcrafter's knife in the dimensions and steel type that I was looking for. I had plans to 'use' it last weekend but Louisiana weather decided to rain on my plans. No pun intended. Seems to be the same for this weekend as well. :( Just as well since I'm having to work on Friday night anyways. Really looking forward to being able to do something with it next weekend because my new blade is just DYING to be played with. Anyways, I thought this would be a good thread for those of us that are fans of John's work and use his blades as they were intended. Please post pictures of them at work if you have them. I apologize for not having any as of yet but hopefully I will be able to add to that soon. In the meantime I will simply show off John's work with future pictures to be posted soon (I hope).

Very good topic, I often wonder about this myself. I hope they are not just sitting around getting dusty!

In my daily life I have relatively few knife needs. That said, I have three JKs within arms length for anything that may come up from cutting plastic trailer seals and zip ties to opening packages.

The Tool is my most used fixed blade. When doing work on my property, it is always on my belt. My JK Supporters knife is often part of my daily carry as a back pocket blade. My hatchet is used for brush work and also gets a lot of work on my property.

Only my custom knife is unused as it is intended to be part of a display when (if?) I ever get that completed.

I don't take a lot of pictures while I'm doing things, it's normally a separate activity so these pictures are mostly cheats...but

This time of year they end up making kindling or even fuzz sticks, i like to play with how to make the fire even in the house :)

Kitchen work, and dinner work as well, I tend towards a lot of sub 7" knives so they excel at that kind of thing

also general playing around and (lots of)package opening duties

this fella does a lot in the work shed from pencil sharpening, leather scoring and wood trimming

they also sit on a table during a gathering, really, really well :p

have fun playing with your's, and thanks for the interesting thread topic!

I have a few JK's that pull kitchen duty, and so I put my hands on a JK in earnest just about daily for food prep.

When I go camping, I use whichever one of my very capable JK's I decide to take on that trip, along with my trusty DBH.

I also use the DBH and the XD XM around the yard - overkill but the fun kind. ;^)

best

My Rule # 9 is on its way to Darkmatter for a sheath and I dusted it off before I sent it :D. I'm a woodworker don't 'cha know and dust follows me everywhere.

The Toby's is in the kitchen waiting on some dinner prepping.

I am very happy with my JKs!

Most of my JK use revolves around food. Be it normal veggie chopping or butchering meat.

I use my DBH to help grow chest hair.

Well,I had a 1/16" thick Improved Bowie and a Toby's knife doing kitchen duty and have used a Kephart, Hiker,HudsonBayXL ,Rule 9 and Tool while camping.
I carried my JK Friction Folder XL at work & used it all the time to open and break down boxes & open the little pint cans we kept paint & grease in.
I also littered the outdoor areas all around the shop with feather sticks whenever I went out for a break and for lunch.

my JK-O is in my hunting kit & the XL Hudson Bay lives on the side of my pack for camping trips, but unfortunately the bushcrafter doesn't seem to be getting much use because I have too many knives in that size range that are part of the rotation.

Great pictures and stories guys, keep them coming! :) I purchased mine for one thing: WORK! As in to use it for our hunting/camping/fishing trips. Hopefully I'll be able to add pictures of 'use' soon. In the meantime, I though I'd show off a picture of my perfect 'Tool.' ;) Please try to excuse the quality of picture as I'm not a photographer, but please try to accept the quality of John's work. As a fitter/welder/ who has to inspect my own work (with threat of termination for poor quality work) I have to look a lot of very symmetrical objects, applications, and structures. Some of this includes VERY minute details so I'm very experienced with finding the smallest discrepancy in things and everything on my blade is absolutely perfect. With that said, it's absolutely awesome to know that their are skilled craftsmen that hold themselves to a very high standard.

Without further ado, here is an example of that fine craftsmanship :)
