Picked this sweet little blade up at Knob Creek

My Game Warden is my edc, and this is a little big to pack around campus...so what do you all use yours for? camp chores? bush craft? Also has anyone convexed their meaner?

I'd love one for EDC. Right now I'm trying to sell a full custom Wilson Tactical knife (my current EDC) for a Busse Meaner Street or a Crusader Forge TCFM 02 to carry.

Nice score!:thumbup: I got mine because I was trying to build a leprechaun set, and well... it was available. I liked the way it felt in my hand sooo much I made it one of my edc's. Ive used it for everything from cutting radiator hose, batoning wood, and slaying zombies. Yes zombies.:D Here's my Meaner...

I haven't really found a use for my Meaner as of yet. I have a BAD for kitchen duty, Sabre AD for regular cutting tasks, Sarsquatch for camp chores, NMFBM for chopping, and AK for decapitating zombies. I'ts just a little too long to EDC. I'm gonna have to say it's just eye candy for me.

I agree it does push the envelope on size for an EDC, Ive noticed it can get a bit uncomfortable when compared to something a bit more compact, but definitely doable. I consider it my attractive EDC, when I want to change it up from my muddy skelly warden. It performs all the tasks you would expect from a warden, but stabbier. IMO.;)

Mine sits around waiting for the apocalypse. I consider it one of my SHTF knives.

It also gets used to make sheaths.

Here is a pic of mine when Ban was done. BTW, it's his pic too.

Too big for EDC? Guess I must be pushing it with the skinny ASH and Jackhammer EDC rotation. :D

Meaner looks like a great little self defence blade.

I use this LMrS for an extra camp knife at times. Or a steak knife or anything else I might use a small knife for. But yes I don't carry it around in the city.

I sent mine to Ban, who stripped it, and then thinned and convexed the edge. I highly recommend his work.

Yeah, I am getting ready to send Ban the Meaner he did for me back to him for one of his AWESOME convex jobs. Should turn it into a more dangerous blade in the kitchen!!

I carry an A2 Mean Street (bottom knife in the last pic) in an in-the-waist-band Okuden sheath. I think the mean street is a fine size for horizontal EDC (in permissible environments), although the butt hook on the current version is a little awkward. A dangler-type sheath that lets you tuck the knife in a pocket might also work, though it's a bit heavy for swinging around.

Convexing is good. Bushcraft and kitchen prep are ideal uses - especially for a leaner. My MS is very thick but the full-height grind and convex edge makes it useable. The current MS is very similar in size to my Koster bushcraft. See Dan's forum under "Makers" for some interesting Bushcraft sheaths by JRE.

I think we also need to resurrect Gundy's "BadA$$" thread - sheath designed for discrete EDC of an NO!

I try my best to take that snake meaner away from you if I bump into when you carry it in the city. Better keep it at home for your own safety. :D
