So I got a ruk awhile ago and love it haven't been able to go play with it yet other than to put a hair popping edge on it. I do plan on buying a wak eventually and I got to thinking what do y'all do with your wak's and ruk's?

I admire my Waki as I walk by on the way to the closet to get supplies. :)

I bet it would be a brush clearing monster though, and it might make a decent intruder redirector.

To be honest it is in my shelf as a Ruki / Waki combination in the same color and I am just happy to look at them... When I go to my cabin a NMSFNO or a Team Gemini is much more of use...

Unfortunately just stare at them with love so far. Lots of handling and pseudo-samurai stuff :p Still waitin' on the wifey to bust her Waki out so I can feel justified in breaking out my Rucki as we destroy some watermelons and cantaloupes!

Cool now I don't feel so bad that I just admire mine and use it more as a display piece...lol. It will get used one day but no time soon.

I use mine to bring "The Gift of Eternal Sleep" (Team Unicorn reference there ;) ) to the undead and they shuffle and moan up my street....and it would keep the home invader types a big further back than a steak knife if needed.... ;)

Seems to me like they were designed to take human life, like most swords. Could they be used to chop wood or clear brush? Sure, but I would wager they wouldn't perform all that well.

Andy I'm pretty sure I've seen some pics of some fine firearms you own so I'm sure a home invader wouldn't be too happy!

...... no need for a gun when you have mastered the "steely glare" and possess the appropriate poor attitude... ;) ;)

When I was land surveying I took it in the field a few times as a machete. The weight distribution of the waki wasn't as good as a machete for line clearing but it made up for it by being quick in the hand. I beat it pretty good and it took it all. I'll agree that I took it out more just for the fun of it but it didn't miss a lick and came out of it without a bit of damage. It's still showing a little field dirt and it looks and carries well in one of Dave Brown's scabbards.

That is awesome looking!

Waki has perfect balance; better than the AK for speed. A waki is leaned against my nightstand now.

I do want a waki...my nightstand has the ruk mounted on it 2 glocks on top rem 870 tac and rock river m4 and naa mini mounted a Barnes 8 and swamprat 411 and Busse basic 4 mounted and top pullout has my extra mags and shotgun rounds and 2nd pullout has vexor pepper/cs spray and asp handcuffs and not sure what else is in there...time for a look!
