What do you use your Satin Jack for ?

Or your SR Camptramp or similar sized blade ??
I usually carry a smaller blade (AD, BA3, bandicoot) and/or a large blade (BattleRat). One argument I hear for a medium blade (6-7") is that it is a good compromise if you only carry one knife, but is a jack-of-all-trades a master of none ??
What uses do you *prefer* your SJ (or CT, etc) for over a smaller or larger blade ?
Maybe just personal preference ? I know I don't NEED an excuse to buy another knife  , but I want to know what I'm missing :D
thanks

mmmmm i think you might have answered you own question here.

when i go afar, motorized or floating, say on a hundred mile rafting trip, i always carry a mistress and a smaller steak knife like a mean street (ad, leaner, baIII) to use around camp.

if i'm just out for the day, taking a short hike, exploring or hunting on foot, i would take my satin jack or maybe a ergo outlaw, a large belt knife.

now sizes have changed with the fusion models. so i might take a fusion jack instead of a ergo-no. on my last rafting trip i took a FSH and it chopped right along with a SHBM and was a little more compact.

if i take a satin jack on my hikes then i can easily carry another six pack of beer (cans not bottles)

imho

I’m a gear minimalist, so I only like to carry one knife at a time.

I started with a 7” Chris Reeve Shadow, and still like mid sized blades more than anything else.

The Satin Jack TAC is a great example of a mid sized knife that can be used for everything that you might need a cutting tool for, and only using one cutting tool when out and about teaches you to use your tool more effectively, and helps you understand the possible limitations of design and materials.

Once I get a sheath for my Satin Jack TAC it will be put to any task that I need to complete around the farm, or when I go bush walking.

This was a regular FSH and not a HOFSH? Either way thats pretty good. It makes me wonder what the FBM will be like.

yes, regular fsh, i have some pictures somewhere and i was going to post the results. the fsh chopped just as well as the shbm! we used them side my side for seven days.

i have used my .220 saber sj for chopping down palm leaves that stabbed me in the face....

Satin Jack is the perfect replacement for a Ka-Bar or similar all-round use knife. The question isn't what can it do, but what can't it do. Then again, what is there that any Busse can't do! :D
YMMV, but I think the old SJ has one of the best handles ever. It's got a finger cutout, without being to boxy or sharp, and it's got a thinner handle that makes me really happy, especially since a lot of the bigger Busses have really huge handles.

Once I get it sheathed (I'm thinking slim kydex), SJ Tac is going with me everywhere I can take it.

Outside in the woods, most likely. :)
