What do you use your Spyderco Resilience for?

A friend of mine gave me his resilience. I'm trying to figure out what I would use it for though. The blade is massive so I can't really whip it out in public to open a box like I would with my g10 kershaw cryo. Also, I can't get over how much of a chef's blade it is. I've been using it for food prep mostly. Does anyone use there resilience for a specific reason? Also, unfortunately knife laws only allow a 4 inch blade. So I would only carry it around the house, or possibly when I go fishing (i doubt it, I use my spyderco salt for that purpose)

I can bring it to work as well, I don't see that being an issue. I work in the kitchen of a restaurant. I prep food so I'm constantly breaking down boxes.

Can anyone give me some examples of what to use it for? I don't usually use a knife for one reason. It usually gets used for everything. Besides the resilience, the biggest knives I own are the ontario utilitac 2 and the s30v kershaw blur..so not big at all.

I just use mine for EDC from time to time. That giant slab of steel is too big for just about everything, but that doesn't stop me from digging it. Especially at its price point.

At it's size the only thing I could see it being used for is food prep. Unless you're planning on being attacked by ninjaterroristcriminals

For some reason I like how it looks though so it's on my ever-expanding list

I took mine on holiday with me last Christmas to New Zealand where it was carried everyday around camp and out fishing doing all sorts of chores and tasks .
I was brilliant as a camp knife , but back home it's just to big .
