What do you want on your headstone?

My father died recently. We are trying to decide on what to put on his headstone (besides death and birth date).

Dad was a strong man who lived life well and deeply enjoyed it, a loving man, but he really only did what he wanted to do.

I was thinking, "I Did It My Way." But I don't want to sound unkind.

As a Christian, I think that I would wnat mine to say, "He's Not Here."

What would you want on your headstone?

"Wish you were here" is probably inappropriate. Sorry to hear about the passing of your Father, Bill.

one thing to consider is that it is related to what he would say not what you would say

sorry for your loss, I recently have gone through the same with the loss of my father in Feb.

I don't want a headstone. I want to be chopped up and processed into garden compost. Or, if the meat is good, I'd like to be processed into food to feed stray cats. But I suppose there are legal issues with both of those choices so I'll probably have to be content with being cremated and having my ashes worked back into the soil.

"He never quit" or something to that fact.....maybe in Latin just to keep 'em guessing ;)

I think a line from a Dylan song might be fitting..."Not the end, not the end, just remember that death is not the end."

Bill? Sorry for your loss.

I've thought about this (too) much. I want to be "parted-out", then cremated, but I'd really like a tombstone--kind of like a last word.

One of the best I've come up with is:

"See you soon."

or,

"Did too!"

Be well and safe,

Kis :D

Very sorry about your lost, Bill. I'm probably going to be cremated. On my Urn i would like something like thus:

:)
Had A Nice Day!

Kinda fun and hopefully sums up my days well.

The words above you have already written sounds good to me. Only you might substitute his name for dad.
I'm also sorry for your loss Bill. I wasn't close to my dad but I envy those who are/were.

I was thinking Id like to have a bench instead of a stone. that way, people could sit down and relax.

"Have a seat, I aint going anywhere."

Best line of the week...come on guys, Bruise deserves a real round from the house!!

Sorry for your loss Bill.

As for me:

Bury me face down so the whole world can kiss my ass.
