I have a busse knife that says 1 of 6 and was wondering what that means. I know they made 6 knives and they all would say 1 of 6, but does that mean there are only 6 in the world never to be made again? Could someone with more knowledge in these matters please fill me in? Thanks

That's right. There would only be 6 of that particular configuration. "never to be made again"? Well, we can't vouch for the Shop, but that is probably a safe assumption.

Generally when an Artist or knife maker will do a limited run of pictures or in this case knives they will be numbered, 1/6 or 1 of 6, 2 of 6, 3 of 6, and so on.

That way the earlier in the series the higher the value.

1 of 6 means the first of six knives made. 6 of 9 means you are a very hot Borg.

Oops, missed it by that much... ;) Seven of Nine is the hottest Borg in the Collective!
Trek Geek, one each...

Usually when speaking Hog(ish). 1 of x generally means that that knife in its color scheme and made w/ it's features, released at that time is 1 of x. A 1 of 6 knife maybe one of 6 in that color combo but does not mean only 6 of that model exist.

Now, if it's a number indicating a piece from of set number...for example, #2 of 300...then there are only 300 of that knife made (as its configured--say upper swedge/no upper swedge) in the world.

:D Seven was a bit too old, five a bit too young, and six just right. You haven't lived until you've had a menage a neuf ;)
The truth is my mind is going on me.
I'll just slink away and play with my Busse folder...

If I recall right there were 3 different flavors of Muskrat at blade 2011, 6 of each, black G10, red and black G10 and orange and black G10. That same year Killa zilla protos, rmd protos, and hack war dogs all had that same sort of numbering scheme(eta & Pauls hatchet). I also recall some others spread out throughout the years, that snake/satin nmfbm from knob being the "One", mmmmmm.
Cheers
