I have searched and searched but can't find the answer. Can you guys tell me what the term "click" means in regard to distance? As in "the building is two clicks west of here". Thanks for the help.

In the old days in Eastern Oregon they often measured by "looks." You look out as far as you can see in the direction you are traveling, and that spot defines one look. When you reach that spot you look again, and so on. While not terribly accurate it served the purpose when they needed to give directions across roadless lands. I guess that it was a much more applicable term when everybody had to travel open sagebrush county on horseback...

Or if your REALLY, REALLY lost you CLICK your heels together twice and say "theres no place like home...theres no place like home". I have tried this a few times but never worked for me, you might have better luck.
Take care, Dean

"Click" can also be defined as the sound one hears when his/her gun fails to go "bang." It can have positive or negative connotations. "Click," when dry firing, for instance, is a good thing to hear. However, the same sound heard in combat or in the face of a charging bear, is rarely followed by good things happening to the person creating the sound. It is also the sound made by a hiccuping chicken.

...CLICK your heels together twice...
I think its three times, so you wouldn't get there...

'Klick' seems to refer to kilometers, but long long ago, in the Viet Nam era, I was told by an artillery grunt that it referred to the difference in elevation brought about by "one click" of one of the control wheels on a 105mm gun. That "one click" would change the impact point of a shell by something like 100 yards, and this was therefore the distance of a "klick", or "5 klicks" would equal about 500 yards, etc.

That was then... Perhaps it never meant that. I can't say from experience...

THREE Clicks!!!! No wonder it never works for me. I also think it has something to do with the lack of ruby slippers, my Danner's just are not cutting it.:)

Every time I click my heels 3 times, I wind up in Kansas.

I start out in Kansas, so this is not a surprise.
