What does it take to devalue a Busse

What kind of abuse does it take to devalue a Busse. When does a BM go from being worth 347.00 to 325.00 or 300.00? What does it take? And from a collectors point of view does that mean one should limit their use of their Busse? Does a One of a Kind Busse lose value in larger amounts because it is a one of a kind? Just wondering. Any thoughts on this would be great.

This is very dependent on who you ask. For example I only care about how the blade actually cuts so its value will not ever chnage unless it breaks in half, loses a big chunk out of its edge (like 1/4" deep), the handle falls off - things like that.

Devalue, limited use??? I do not think these words are in Busse's dictionary. Even if the handle falls off of a Busse, you will still have a functional knife.

I dunno... I'd suggest saving your money. Ordering a BM has turned into quagmire and their customer service has been called into question. On the other hand, considering the limited number turned out, they may actually appreciate in value.

I've ordered two knives direct from Jerry, a Battle Mistress and a Badger Attack. Yea, they took a while but I found Jerry to be a man of his word.
Also bought A Mean Street and a Police Recruit from Andy, both this month and both arrived by priority mail within days of my order.
If your in a hurry buy from Andy or Mike Turber. Not sure about Mike's prices but Andy's are the same as Jerry's.
One caveat tho....it seems inevitable that as word spreads about what a pleasure it is to do buisiness with Andy it's just a matter of time untill he is as overwhelmed with orders as Jerry is. Get em while you can.

I understand where you guys are comming from especially Cliffs remark but lets look at it this way. Would you buy a BM for 347.00 with the coating all suffed or when you could readily buy a new one for the same price. Lets forget that a new one might take a while. Just on the value here would you buy the scuffed one or the new one for the same ammount of money? If you'd wait for the new... at what price would it make it worth your while to pick up the scuffed one instead? 10 dollars less? 20? 30? how much to make it worth it. I mean if the scuffed one was only 10 bucks less I think I'd still go with the new one. So there is my question. At what point does a Busse Devalue?

I would just buy which ever one I would get faster. The first time I used it seriously the coating is probably going to get marred and other such cosmetic flaws. Look at it this way, when you use your Busse to you think of the value as constantly decreasing? I don't. However collectors would view this very differently. You might want to ask in the general forum to get a broader scope of replies.
