What does LB stand for?

I think from what I've read that LB is some type of milling under the handle slabs. Also, I think the ASHBMLE doesn't have the LB treatment, but another type. I looked under the acronyms sticky, but didn't see it. Can anyone help clarify this for me? :)
 
It was my understanding that the ASHBM didn't receive the LB treatment. I had thought that someone from Busse stated they used through holes under the handle to reduce weight and improve balance. Unfortunately, I am unable to find the thread and post to confirm this.

Thanks for posting that. The search engine here sucks; tried searching keyword 'brigade' in threads by Jerry and got nothing.


You are correct, Jerry posted that the AnSHBM will have through holes in the tang. He was previously on record as stating that such treatment was not a good idea in choppers, as it caused more vibration to the hands of the user. He has not explained his change in thinking.
