So, earlier this year I had a 3.5 inch flipper spanto that I got set up just how I like it, Textured CF/Bronze standoffs, etc Here is pic:

Due to needing to free up some quick cash because of an surprise bill, I had since traded it away for another knife that I still have and a bunch of cash. Recently, I got a ZT0561 in a trade and started thinking, DAMN! I miss my XM-18. Now I know I am not the only one that has had a certain knife, only to regret getting rid of it and to get another but it seems to happen with certain manufacturers more than others. The XM is one of those knives that got me wanting another! I am beginning to think it is something special that the folks at Hinderer coat the knives with that makes them addicting. Like always wanting a cigarette even many years after you quit:)

One more thing, I may have gotten rid of my last XM but the Hinderer forum on here and on USN have been stalked regularly by me:) I really appreciate the sense of community and camaraderie you have here!!

My 3" is the single best EDC knife I've ever owned. I own a more expensive custom integral, but frankly the smaller XM-18 just fits my pocket better and I'm not afraid to USE it.

Coupled with Amazing Quality and Service - there's your answer :)

I hear you man! There's just something about them that other knives just don't.... Haha!

I haven't been carrying my other makers really. And when I do I just want my XM's back in my pocket.

I have the exact setup you got rid of. And I love that setup too!

Good luck in your hunt my friend!

According to you, when i'm in intervention (higway patrol coordinator), always keep my XM18 near my hand, not an EDC, not a back-up, just a friend.......

Maybe in a better English.... lol....

I agree with you, when I am in action (highway safety coordinator), I still have my XM 18 at hand, it is not my EDC nor my backup, just a friend ....

Now I get it, your English was fine. I just wanted to understand your point.
Good Friend to have.

The gateway is production with a stonewashed finish.
Perhaps the craving sets in for a satin blade and an anodized scale.

Eventually a working finish must be experienced in order to get the full fix.

Its all your fault!! you sir, are the one that put the bug in my ear w that one single post on CRK sub forum when I first got a sebenza, something like "now you need a Hinderer" ...:) thank you! :D

Very nice picture, and I feel the same way about my XM's. Such great companions!
