I always thought the G. was for his wife Goldie, but not knowin' Mr. Russell's name,(after all these years of collecting and buyin' knives from his catalogs I've never known what the AG stood for) can anyone shed some light on the mystery for me?

it has been A. G. for 74 years and beyond that for my father and his father before him.

What does T stand for?

Mr. Russell, You're the best. I have bought some custom knives from you, Tinus beakus gentlemans side knife, and Bob Dozier professional guide knife. I love them both.I take the Dozier hunting deer every year. I will look in my catalogue now and buy another. Twist my arm!
Best Regards,
Rick

The T stands for Tibor, my Father's middle name. My middle name, (my father's first name) is Attila but the best part is the last name, Erdelyi, it's hungarian for Transylvania, also the neck of the Hungarian woods my old man grew up in, the foothills to the Carpathian Mountains.

Thank you for answering Mr. Russell, I was hopin' you'd answer.

p.s. i just wish i could afford that archer chute knife by dietmar kressler. that is a beautful knife!

No, he's not! T. Erdelyi makes Mr. T look like an anorexic wimp. :D

(( DON'T mess with Attila the Hun! ))

Mr. Russell, I just figured you were named for A. G. Edwards, one of those men that has all that big money! :D

Not Likely!

My great-great-grandfather was named for General Andrew Jackson, my grandfather was named Andrew Garrett and all of us have been A. G. until my grandson. My daughter in law put a stop to that saying that "enough was enough, her son would be Andrew, not known as A. G. V"

I thought it was for Axcellent Gnives.

Yeah, and he used to bring the Beakus knife, in its ostrich-skin sheath, to the office where we used to work together and torture me with its craftsmanship, too!

Hey Thom, How are you! I hope all is well with you and your family. Finally have some free time from working. Now I can discuss knives again.

We're doing well, thanks. Hope all is well with you and your town brewery and your growing collection of workingmens' knives.
